Guest Accommodations
No one expects a tent event to be the height of luxury. However, no one expects to enter the 15th century when they walk into your tent, either. A judicious selection of guest accommodations can really make a difference in your guests’ comfort, as well as in what they’ll say about you in their facebook posts.
Let’s start with coat racks and hangers, shall we? This isn’t the stone age, for heaven’s sake. A coat check area is a particularly good idea for events held during cooler months. Heavy coats draped over the backs of chairs not only looks horrendously bad, it also makes it harder for guests and servers to maneuver around tables.
If your event will have small children in attendance, you should definitely have high chairs and booster seats for their use. While these little people lack the developmental skills to make snarky comments about you online, leaving them to beg for handouts under the dining table is just plain wrong. Besides, they can be quite entertaining table companions.
As a host, one must also be prepared for the inevitable tipsy grandmother or small child up past bedtime. We highly recommend a rollaway bed. The party must go on, after all.
